Concrete Costs

Concrete reaches 70% of its full strength in 7 days and full strength in 28 days. You can walk on it after 24–48 hours and drive on it after 7 days in most cases.

Residential driveways should be at least 4 inches thick. For vehicles over 4,000 lbs or frequent heavy traffic, 5–6 inches is recommended with added rebar.

Concrete should not be poured when temperatures are below 40°F without heated blankets and additives. Freezing before curing causes scaling and structural weakness.
